F ollowing the success of the Queen's Beast series, the Tudor Beast coin collection is a celebration of British history. The Tudor Beast coin series will feature ten different heraldic beast designs based on the beast statues on Moat Bridge of Hampton Court Palace, London. This new collection struck by the Royal Mint features limited coin mintages to commemorate the Tudor Dynasty
The Tudor Beast coin series features the Seymour Panther, Lion of England, Bull of Clarence, Tudor Dragon, Greyhound of Richmond, Royal Dragon, Yale of Beaufort, Seymour Unicorn, Queen’s Panther and the Queen’s Lion. Each coin will be struck in Gold, Silver and Platinum. The Gold Tudor Beast coins are available in 5oz, 2oz, 1oz and 1/4oz sizes

The First Beast
The Seymour Panther

The Tudor Panther was the statue given to Jane Seymour by King Henry VIII. The Gold Panther coins are all struck to proof standard and have varying limited mintages. The 2oz Gold coin, for example, has only 350 coins that were struck. No bullion versions of this coin was produced in Gold, only proof versions exist

The Second Beast
Lion of England

The Lion of England is the second design released in this series. A symbol of England, the Lion has the longest history of all beasts in Great Britain with its first appearance on royal emblems tracing back to the twelfth century, modern-day sovereigns such as the Memorial Sovereign still showcase the mighty Lion of England

The Third Beast
The Yale of Beaufort

With origins from European folklore, the Yale is a peculiar beast which shares the same features as a range of other animals. The beast is seen pictured holding a shield displaying the Arms of Jane Seymour, symbolising her authority and influence as the Henry VIII's new wife

The Forth Beast
The Bull of Clarence

A significant coin in the series, as it is the first of the Tudor beast Gold coins to feature King Charles III. The Bull of Clarence is a strong and mighty beast that is associated with the House of York. The shield held by the Bull has historical significance too, the Tudor Rose symbols the marriage between Henry VII and Elizabeth of York

The Fifth Beast
The Seymour Unicorn

Positioned directly opposite the Lion of England on the Moat Bridge, the Seymour Unicorn is seen posed with a heraldic coronet as well as a wreath of roses and daisies around its neck, this differentiates this beast from the Unicorn of Scotland as seen in the famous Queens Beast coin range
