Prince Friedrich of Anhalt-Dessau was a member of the German noble House of Ascania. The Anhalt-Dessau line played a prominent role in the history of the German states. He served in the Prussian army, which was one of the most respected military forces in Europe during the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Friedrich also fought in the Napoleonic Wars but died in 1914 which was a year before the end of the war
