The rare Afghanistani 1 Amani which was struck for three consequitive years between 1925-1927 with a total mass of 6g. The coins are almost always seen in a Mint State which indicates that these coins were never circulated. Unlike some of the other rare Gold coins from the middle east, the 1 Amani was struck within Afghanistan at the Kabul Mint and not outsourced by a large international Mint
Gold 1 Amani coins weigh 6g of .900 fine Gold although examples weighing as little as 5.9g are known. The design is similar to that seen in the Turkish Lira with a Tughra. The obverse shows a beautiful illustration of a mosque. The Afghani 1 Amani has an unknown mintage and is extremely rare in the UK market
