The rare Afghanistani 2 Amani which was struck for five consequitive years between 1920-1924 with a total mass of 9.2g. The coins were actually produced for circulation during the reign of King Amanullah Khan 1919-1929 in a bid to modernise Afghanistan. However, the Gold Amanis were replaced by banknotes and base metal coins. The 2 Amani was struck within Afghanistan at the Kabul Mint and is 90% Gold
Gold 2 Amani coins weigh 9.2g of .900 fine Gold. The design is similar to that seen in the Turkish Lira with a Tughra. The obverse shows a beautiful illustration of a mosque. The Afghani 1 Amani has an unknown mintage and is extremely rare in the UK market
