One of the most famous US Gold coins with a face value of $20 which was struck between 1849 and 1933. The coins are 90% Gold and 10% copper and circulated as currency in the US. The coins were a result of the increased Gold supply from the Californian Gold rush. 1905 saw a design change for the Gold Double Eagle coin. The new design shows an Eagle flying over the sun with the Lady Liberty on obverse.
