The Gold Spanish 20 Pesetas coins dated 1896 and 1899 features the third portrait of Alfonso XIII as an older child. This is a deceptively scarce late-nineteenth century gold type from Spain and commands high premiums when seen in uncirculated or mint state
The legend of this coin is “ALFONSO XIII POR LA G· DE DIOS” which translates as “Alfonso XIII by the grace of God”. The third portrait was struck over two-years but has a lower overal mintage (2,098,834) than the second portrait of Alfonso XIII
