The Colombian Gold Diez Peso is a rare two-year type from the Gold Colombian peso range. The Casa de Moneda de Colombia only struck these coins in 1919 whilst the coins were produced again in 1924 by the Bogota Mint. There are a total of 101,000 coins dated 1919 and 55,000 dated 1924, giving a total mintage of 156,000 Colombian Diez Peso coins known.
The design of the Diez Peso is the same as that of the smaller Colombian Gold Cinco peso which features Simón Bolívar a military leader famous for leading the revolution aginast the Spanish rule in Latin America. The Colombian Gold Diez peso weighs 15.9761g of .9167 fine Gold
