The Gold Iran 1/2 Pahlavī is a highly sought coin that was struck by Iran’s Tehran Mint for 23-years during the period 1951-1974. The coin is 90% pure but as is often observed with Iranian Gold coins, the tone and luster of the coin makes the coin look much closer to 24 carat
The 1/2 Pahlavī features the side portrait of Mohammed Reza Shah Pahlavi and has a wonderfully struck high relief design. The “Lion and Sun” is a prominent symbol of Iran and was used on the Iranian national flag until 1979
