The Nikolai I 5 Roubles (1826-1831) is a part of the Russian monetary system and holds significant value in terms of both numismatic and historical importance. The coin is known as a 5 Ruble coin, which was a common denomination used in Russia during that time. This type was minted in Saint Petersburg (СПБ) and features the initials “ПД” which stands for “Pavel Dubrovin,” the engraver of the coin.
The lettering on the reverse of the coin “ЧИСТАГО ЗОЛОТА 1 ЗОЛОТН= 39 ДОЛЕЙ∙ С∙П∙Б∙”, translating as “Pure Gold 1 zolotnik 39 dolyas (parts)”. The mintage for this type is reported at 2,884,220
