The Israel 100 Gold Lirot featuring Chaim Weizmann, struck in 1962 JE 5723 . It is made of gold (.917) and weighs 26.68 grams. This coin was struck along with the smaller 50 Lirot coin to mark the 10th anniversary of the death of Chaim Weizmann, the first President of Israel. Chaim Weizmann was a prominent Zionist leader and a key figure in the establishment of the State of Israel. Weizmann played a crucial role in the Balfour Declaration of 1917, which expressed British support for the establishment of a Jewish homeland in Palestine.
The design of the coin features a portrait of Chaim Weizmann on the obverse side, along with the inscription “Chaim Weizmann, First President of Israel” in Hebrew. The reverse side depicts a menorah, a symbol of Judaism, and the denomination “100 Lirot” in Hebrew. This particular coin has a mintage of 6,186 pieces
