The Gold Spanish 8 Escudo featuring Philip V was struck in Spain between 1732 and 1747. The 13.54g coin is made of a 90% Gold alloy containing 12.41g of fine Gold. These coins are extremely rare and command a high premium in the secondary market, especially when graded as mint state.
The inscription on the coin, translated into English, reads ‘Philip V, king of the Spains and Indias by the grace of God.’ Whilst The reverse of the coin displays the Spanish coat of arms surrounded by a necklace. These coins were produced by the Royal Mint of Spain in Madrid.
