Gold Turkish 25 Kurush coin was first struck under the reign of Abdülmecid I in 1839 and continued under various other Sultans until the final Gold 25 Kurush was minted in 1914. These smaller coins are less common than the larger Gold 100 Kurush piece and are typically seen in a more circulated state. The smaller denomination coins such as the 25 Kurush were used more in transactions and less for wealth preservation purposes which led to more wear and rim nicks on the coins
25 Kurush coins are seen less frequently in the British coin market with mint state or almost uncerculated examples even harder to come by. Each coin weighs 1.8g of .9167 fine Gold.
