A Silver 2oz version was first released in 2020 and has been limited to 10,000 issues per annum. This followed the popularity of a 2oz Gold version that was first introduced in 2018. Previous to this, a Silver proof 1oz version had been offered for sale by the South African Mint which has been produced each year since 2017 with the mintage of the coins being limited to 15,000

The designs of both proof versions are very consistent with the most noticeable difference being that the 2oz Silver proof Krugerrand having a face value of 2 Rand.
